You could run into many men who are growing their moustaches on the street during November. These men may be taking part in the 'Movember' event which is an annual, month-long event that includes the growth of their moustache during a month. Movember has the goal of changing the face of men's health. The Movember charity not only raise donations, but also open some special parties to encourge people to improve men's healthy. Moreover, the Movember event is not just about growing moustaches. it pushes men to announce and be aware of ignored issues of men's health problems through their each action and word. After raising money, in particularly Movember, they help the men who are suffering from prostate cancer.
The Movember was designed in 1999 by some young men in Adelaide, Australia. They came up with the idea of growing mustaches for stimulating charity during the month of November. In 2004, the people who were inspired by this idea founded the official organization and started with 80 men from Australia. According to the official website, The Movember organization has since raised $174-million worldwide, after spreading to South Africa and Europe, reaching America in 2006. In 2010, participants in the United States alone raised over $7.5 million.
Nowadays, the Movember event is more than just a local event. Over 10 advanced countries including Australia, New Zealand, the US, Canada, the UK, South Africa, Ireland, Finland, the Netherlands, Spain, Denmark, Norway, Belgium and the Czech Republic are participating in the campaign. In addition, Movember helps not just the countries which take part in the campaign, but also any countries which face risks of men's health from Russia to Dubai, Hong Kong to Antarctica even the countries that are not participating in the Movember event.
