What a wonderful experience it has been...
As I write this part of the wonderful message, I recall back the first moments of the first class.
I remember I was anxious and nervous although I had everything prepared. I got all my plans and material ready, but I wasn't sure who would show up for the class and be part of this club.
Earlier that day, I announced the reopening of the club after it was closed back in 2011. I wasn't that persuasive nor that encouraging to have people join. I wasn't sure if anybody would show up and I wasn't going to be surprised if that happened.
I even told myself that the poor presentation and announcement of the club was intentional to let only those who are willing to be in and to work would come no matter what. After all, I was honest and true to my feelings.
To my surprise, I had only one student showing up (No one other than Jay). Both know that back then none of us thought that we would pull it this long and thins far to bring you 6 editions in 2012. We shared the same goal and reached it with different approaches. Then we started getting more members who sadly couldn't last with longer because they didn't have the time to stay with us, however, they have left back a mark that will make us remember them.
I am proud to have met every one of them and I am content to be part of this great work. Thank you all of our readers and members for the great work and support.

The most painful, but never to be forgotten...
I was so surprised that I already arrived at final station. I feel I just started Newspaper club yesterday... When I started it, I remember how I was nervous. At that time, I wanted to study English rather than enjoying the club. At first, It was terrible to me. I felt pressure of high quality writing and worried about how others think about my articles. However, as the days pass, my members including Ismail helped me realize that I can enjoy not only the club, but also English!! I can proudly say the newspaper club significantly affected and helped me to adapt Canada and improve my English. (but I'm still far from good at English T.T) (Shoulder pat from Ismail)
No matter whether you believe or not, writing something is terrible for me is in English even Korean. What relieved my pressure of writing was this newspaper club. I learned how to enjoy writing. Moreover, the most great thing is I spent my time to search what I'm interested in and share my interests with LLI students.
Although I've been in the Club just 6 month, it gave me unforgettable memories. I really want to say thanks for our members and especially to Ismail because I always chased and was annoying him. Thanks again my priceless members. I wish this club would be running in next year too. (This is Ismail job again^^)

The best way to be creative...
Learning how to speak our first language when we are kids requires four different stages: 1. Listening, 2. Speaking, 3. Reading, and 3. Writing. Writing is the last skill we learn, and when it comes to learn a new language the process is the same, which lead us to the feeling that writing a foreign language is difficult and requires a lot of effort to write logically and understandable. When Jay asked me to be part of this project I was really flattered, and the same time scared a bit. I never had to write in English before, I had only to read; I thought the lack of experience could trick me, but I accepted to be part of the Newspaper and the challenge started.
Jay and Ismail were really supportive, making mistakes was part of this adventure, and making you enjoy our articles was the main goal. Therefore, the first article made me feel unsure about my writing style and possible mistakes, but in the process I started to enjoy the creativity I could put in the articles and the topics we were sharing with you. LLI invites us the whole time to take risks, to enjoy the language and to continue exploring, that is why the newspaper became and excellent motivation to practice and improve our language skills.
Thank you a lot to our readers, to those who commented about the topics, those who proposed more topics and my newspaper partners that made this possible. I believe this is the opportunity to keep inviting people to benefit from these wonderful ideas at LLI, join to clubs and even create them, it will be always a great experience.
